April 2007 Mix up

A new mix for your listening pleasure. I've tried to capture all the moods of a good night out :). The mix starts off slow with some good deep house with warm-up vibes, chugging along to some chunky house, onwards to peak-time techno and last but not the least some good cool-down tracks!. As usual the mixing is a bit off in some places - but hey remember i'm a wannabe :).

Enjoy!

Digweed and MSTRKRFT @ SKY review

Digweed did not disappoint - Massive, Massive Set. Whoever belives that Digweed has lost it musically is full of shit. Diggers set last night @ SKY was the *best* set I've ever heard, period.

Avi and I got there early as we really wanted to check out MSTRKRFT, the openers for Digweed as part of the Diamonds tour. Was a bit sceptical on how MASTRKRFT a live band would fit as an opener for Digweed. MSTRKRFT's set was more electro-housey (expected) and they rocked it. Highlight track for me was Buy Now - For Sale, that breakdown is just insane. I'm excited to see these guys at Coachella this year.

Digweed got on the decks @ 12:30 and launched straight into the "Diggers Vortex" as I call it :). The beats kept getting better and better in classic digweed style, the mixing was tiiiighhttt - he is once smooth muthafucka on the decks. Standout tracks for me were Antena - Camina del Sol (Joakim Remix) (Sounds fucking massive on a huge system), Williams - Shivering (Pitch and Hold Mix). Highlight of the night , G-Stylz - I need your love - the crowd just went MENTAL!!! especially when the vocals kicked in - I need your love, I need your love, I need your love....

Need some sleep now to prepare for the OM records Marathon tonite, Burridge till 4AM!! :)

John Digweed and Mark Farina this weekend

Two great acts this weekend.

Mark Farina the godfather of smooth house, head honcho of OM records will be playing at SKY on Saturday as part of the OM records party. Pretty hot lineup - Toss up between Farina (downstairs) and Burridge (Upstairs).

You already know about Digweed on Friday :)
